The next stop on our tour of Ireland is the capital of The Republic of Ireland, Dublin. Although we were only there for a couple of nights, because it is such a compact and walkable city, we saw a lot. While there isn't the visible political edge that we saw in Belfast, Dublin was also very important in the Irish Nationalist struggle for independence.
But more than that, Dublin is all about the craic, enjoying the social life. The pubs are lively, and there is a big music scene. A great place to live a fun life. We managed to fit a bit of that in as well as seeing the sights.

Hi Chris & Jan. I didn’t see any reference to the Guinness brewery in your Sway. Did you get a chance to visit the home of the world famous Stout?
The brewery is on the outskirts of the centre, on the Liffey, a little upstream from where we were walking. Although it’s easily reachable by foot, we didn’t walk that far. We’ve both seen it on previous trips and decided to spend our time seeing more of the centre and the interesting north bank areas. But we didn’t ignore Guinness completely. We drank a bit of their product, in Dublin and beyond!
